Following completion in 1973 of both his military draft in the United States Airforce and graduation from Long Island University, New York with a BSC in Pharmacy, Marshall entered the world of business. He earned his way through the various roles in unregulated and regulated corporate global financial services companies. In 1993 he founded and was CEO of Federal Financial Group, a New York asset based lender. He operated a $100m fund for the company for the purpose of lending to USA corporations.
Since 1998 he founded the Trade and Merchant Group, a provider of Financial Instruments in the Trade Finance industry. He is still the CEO of this business today. Marshall also sits on the board of Directors of SOPAC, a US based Surety business and more recently has founded and built out applá-x, a regulated EU Payments Institution
